"Since this site has become dead for the clan and community, and Katasdf has closed the forums. I have talked to him and I think we are about to re-open everything again for the members of the clan and the community.
However, I would like to speak about the server. Since we only have one server now ( 8.12.20.56:27015 ) I want to tell everyone what's been going on with it. Lately our host is starting to have problems with our server. Apparently they are accusing me and blaming me for mods that have been installed on all of our servers for two years. Its kind of ironic that they blame me after 60 reports of broken servers from their hosting comes in everyday on those forums.
The server problems are not our fault. Not much we can do until they allow
me ( Phantom ) to have direct access to the server.

I know you all want to know more than the next person, but it is really not helping me with the 85 questions about the server everyday. Guys I've told some of you that I can't tell you anything till I know something.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the server down?
A: The server randomly crashed. ( AGAIN! )
B: The server is updating/upgrading.
C: A config has been changed and the server is restarting.
D: We do not know.

When is the server going to be back up?
A: Possibly in the next hour or the next day.
B: When the host restarts it.
C: We do not know, Asking us will only make the wait longer.

Why is the server crashing?
A: The server only wants to work with certain mods.
B: The host is restarting the server. ( Attempted fixes. )

Why is respawn removed? ( Admins )
A: ES Tools has been removed from the server. So Est_spawn is not a command anymore.

Yep, more server news!
Surfing Under the Influence now only has 1 server. The only server left was formerly known as #2. Our #1 FINALLY went down, after about 3 months of expectancy. Our 3rd (donated) server was given back to it's original owner to do what he pleased with it.

Now, I personally think that having one server is actually beneficial to SuI, as it leaves players more concentrated and should improve the amount of fun and playability overall. This also means more admin and moderation, since there is less to look after.

On a side note, SUI has removed REDIE for a few weeks. We beleive that without redie, those who want to "practice" to get better will actually benefit more, since they can watch and learn... instead of just improvise and learn themselves.

Hi everybody! It's been a while since our last news post. The servers have been doing fine, actually they've been getting noticeably more popular.

As for our 3rd server, we're looking for more suggestions on what everybody thinks we should do with it, as it's not quite as popular or interesting as we'd like it to be.

Also, I'd like to welcome both Stevens and Darkpro to Surfing Under the Influence as our 2 newest admins.

On the same note, we're looking for more admins. This doesn't mean you should come whining to me that you'd make a good admin... just frequent the servers and you might get noticed by our members or myself, in which case you'll get your invitation to SuI.

Hopefully we'll grab a few more dedicated players, and SuI will be well on it's way to being one of if not the most popular surfing server(s) out there!

Hey guys! Good news has come!
We now have 3 servers!

Our first one (206.222.7.76:27010) is going down soon (supposedly), however it is still playable in the meantime.

Our second one (208.122.49.10:27015) is our newest 24/7 skyworld server. It is exactly like the first, minus the lag and random choppiness.

Our third one (8.12.20.56:27015) is our new DONATED server. It's a 24/7 FUN-SURF maps server. We're not sure if we'll keep it like this, but we'd like to try something new. We'd like also like to send a SPECIAL thanks out to Techno/Stevens (he frequents our servers) for donating the server.

In other good news, we were also DONATED a 25-man Ventrilo from Techno/Stevens aswell. To view all servers info, take a look below:

Woot! If you guys haven't noticed, we now have Surfing Under the Influence #1 and #2. You got it! We bought a new server yesterday, and it's already up and active. #1 (the original) is the one that is going to be shutting down within the next week or so I presume, so expect that to be gone shortly. However, as for now we've got 2 servers, so enjoy them both while they last!

Also, a special thanks goes out to Raped, who was the ONLY one who made a donation (thus far). Hopefully we'll receive some more donations, which would really help keep the server up, and keep me from going broke

Bad news guys. Surfing Under the Influence's hosting has decided it's going down. As most people knew, it was closed/private hosting, so it wasn't as popular as it probably could of been. Thanks to knowing the owner, we were getting half price on the server hosting, so it wasn't very hard to keep it up.

Now that the hosting is going down, we may be forced to go with a hosting service such as Counter-Strike.com or one of a similar matter. Along with the new hosting, comes a new price . . . over double the price of the current hosting.

This is where our players come in. Soon enough, we'll have a rewards system set up for donations (custom models, text colors, etc.) In the meantime to help out, if anybody and I mean anybody at all is willing to donate early (you'll receive the proper rewards whenever we get the rewards system) it'd be REALLY appreciated.
